How many people =>actually use PDP-11's anymore? = = IMHO not as many as should be. :-( = But still enough to be funding my salary. :-) = PDP-11's are used in a chunk of telephone switching equipment that the company I work for is putting into service. Yes, it is old stuff, but it is a truely digital (not the company, the mode of operation) switch. I know of an 'automated' air traffic control system based on PDP-11's that is still in use too (not for long though). Come to think of it, I also know of a fish sorting getup (yes, fish sorting) that I *think* uses PDP's too. = Digital is still shipping enough PDP-11s to justify introducing the new = PDP-11/94 (Unibus) and MicroPDP-11/93 (Q-bus) systems. = = somebody has already been there with a PDP! = = Bruce McCulley = RSX-11 Software Development = Digital Equipment Corp. I wonder if any of the above mentioned systems run RSX-11? I don't know (as yet).
