This didnot work. On the CISCO we saw that on the serial interface there was a connection with the X.25 network. But when we tried to start a telnet session from the CISCO to the SUN, it just didnot work. Mine questions are: a) how do you need to configure the CISCO to do this? b) how do you need to configure the SUN to do this? Here is what the CISCO show us (debug info and configurition): rnl#debug x25 X25 packet debugging is on Serial0: X25 I D1 DATA (17) 8 lci 52 PS 0 PR 0 Serial0: X25 O D2 RESET REQUEST (5) 8 lci 52 cause 0 diag 33 Serial0: X25 I D1 DATA (17) 8 lci 51 PS 0 PR 0 Serial0: X25 O D2 RESET REQUEST (5) 8 lci 51 cause 0 diag 33 Serial0: X25 I D2 RESET CONFIRMATION (3) 8 lci 56 rnl#debug lapb LAPB link debugging is on Serial0: LAPB I CONNECT (19) IFRAME 0 7 (C) Serial0: LAPB O CONNECT (2) RR 1 Serial0: LAPB O CONNECT (7) IFRAME 7 1 Serial0: LAPB I CONNECT (5) IFRAME 1 0 (C) Serial0: LAPB O CONNECT (2) RR 2 Serial0: LAPB I CONNECT (19) IFRAME 2 0 (C) rnl#show int ser 0 Serial 0 is up, line protocol is up Hardware type is MCI Serial Internet address is 128.6.1.1, subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 MTU 1500 bytes, BW 56 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec, rely 255/255, load 1/255 Encapsulation is X25, loopback is not set LAPB state is CONNECT, T1 3000, N1 12040, N2 20, K 7 VS 7, VR 5, RCNT 0, Remote VR 7, Retransmissions 0 IFRAMEs 4294/8242 RNRs 0/0 REJs 0/0 SABMs 18/1 FRMRs 0/0 DISCs 0/8 X25 address 129110052, state R1, modulo 8, idle 60, timer 0, nvc 1 Window size: input 2, output 2, Packet size: input 128, output 128 Timers: T20 180 T21 200 T22 180 T23 180 TH 0 Channels: Incoming 100-199 Two-way 100-199 Outgoing 100-199 RESTARTs 11/8 CALLs 51+51/0+0/0+0 DIAGs 0/0 Last input 0:03:22, output 0:00:00, output hang never Output queue max 10, 0 drops; input queue 0/75, 0 drops Five minute input rate 185 bits/sec, 2 packets/sec Five minute output rate 87 bits/sec, 3 packets/sec 10437 packets input, 102922 bytes, 0 no buffer Received 0 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants 9 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 8 abort 12597 packets output, 46814 bytes 0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets, 0 restarts 1 carrier transitions rnl#show config Using 2625 out of 32768 bytes no service config ! interface Ethernet 0 address 128.1.13.1 255.255.0.0 ip mask-reply ! interface Serial 0 encapsulation X25 address 128.6.1.1 255.255.0.0 ip access-group 102 x25 address 129110052 x25 lic 100 x25 hic 199 x25 ltc 100 x25 htc 199 x25 loc 100 x25 hoc 199 x25 idle 60 x25 map IP 128.6.1.2 1170034 ! router rip network 128.1.0.0 network 128.6.0.0 network 128.11.0.0 ! line console 0 exec-timeout 0 0 login password --- line aux 0 no exec exec-timeout 0 0 login password --- line vty 0 exec-timeout 0 0 login password --- line vty 1 exec-timeout 0 0 login password --- end rnl#show version GS Software, Version 8.0(10) Copyright (c) 1986-1989 by cisco Systems, Inc.
