What you should do is rewrite it as user%OWHN@F.Q.D.N, if you want to rewrite it at all. Then it will only break on micnet sites that still use "machine%user". Offhand, I don't know what micnet is. "!%@:" doesn't mention it. As for %ification wraps, that particular piece of punctuation has been subjected to more abuse than any other in the history of email, as far as I can see. I avoid it like the plague, acknowledge it only when forced. --karl
