Too bad they didn't make it into the > 1.5 distribution :-( These packages are far too large to be put in StdMINIX. As Andy once pointed out to me, not all people want these things. They do have to pay an additional $6,- for each extra distr. disk, which seems very unfair to me. That is why I started the NLMUG archive, of which I post the Index every week. This way, people can get these packages, whithout the price of MINIX going sky-high... > > They seem to work but I am having some difficulties getting them to work > the way I want them to. You don't have to. Normally, uucico starts uuxqt as soon as is finished. It looks like the protections are not set right. Please check you Logfile (/usr/lib/uucp/Log/uucico.log) if it has anything to complain about. If not, e-mail to me. I will summarize if of general interest. > > question 2: what else needs to be done to allow file transfers to go? See above: protections. Also, memory can be a problem. My AT has 16Mb of memory: /tmp: 4Mb of RAM disk /usr/tmp: 4Mb of RAM disk The rest is system memory, for the kernel and all other processes. Small (512/640K) systems may fail to execute /usr/lib/uucp/uuxqt because no more memory is left. In that case (Logfile!), try to set back the Stack allocation of various programs... > > On my Sys V system, this is handled by uusched (I think) which we don't have. Not (yet) needed.
