I have only been subscribed to this list for a short time and the discussions
seemed to be at a professional level. This looks to me like an unauthorized
hacker. Can I assume this is atypical of this list?

It seems someone is adding fuel to the flames being sent about dial-up
access to the internet. This certainly points out the need for tracability
if it is unauthorized.
