This article (title "COWABUNGA" and sent by someone called "BIFF") seems to have been posted to nearly every major newsgroup simultaneously, or nearly so. I know it's appeared on: comp.lang.fortran comp.dcom.lan comp.dcom.cisco comp.os.vms comp.sys.dec comp.protocols.tcpip rec.org.sca rec.arts.startrek I'm not sure about any others, but someone else said it'd been posted to one of the security newsgroups as well. Someone has tried replying and the mail hasn't yet bounced, which leads me (at least) to believe that some idiot got access to a friend's account and decided to play.
