Message-ID: <9005311418.AA02765@vax.ftp.com> Date: 31 May 90 14:18:31 GMT Article-I.D.: vax.9005311418.AA02765 References: <35930@sequent.UUCP> Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The Internet Lines: 16 DEC provides a software interface sharing scheme called DLL with PCSA and DECNet/DOS. Our PC/TCP and Wollongong's WIN/PC support it (DLL came in an early version and a late version - I know we handle both, I don't know about WIN/PC), with the minor restriction that we can't handle 4bsd "trailer" packets if too many PCSA features are in use (DEC only provides 8 "portals", and they don't always leave us the 5 we need to handle trailers as well as normal IP and ARP). I don't know of any freeware packages which support DLL. DEC is apparently changing direction to support NDIS instead, but I don't know if/when you can get an NDIS driver for the DEPCA. If you can get one, look through the archives for recent messages on who supports NDIS. James B.
