When I ran the program it displayed a banner proclaiming that it was an unregistered copy of the program, and explicitly stated that it was NOT P.D.! I have deleted my copy, and since replaced it with HamGIF (which I assume is P.D.). Where I come from, public distribution of commercial products in this manner is called piracy. Unfortunately, I kept no record of the site's address or I would have sent some rather pointed e-mail. If someone else on the net comes across this or a similar posting regarding VirtGIF please let the poster know that they are definitely not doing a good thing. Don't have a cow, man! If you read the beginning of the documentation file, you'll see that VirtGIF is being distributed as Shareware. The author gives you a 14 day trial period, after which if you continue to use the program you are supposed to contribute $10-15. There is no restriction on distribution, other than not distributing a modified version. Lane lar@usl.edu Bart Simpson for President in 92, man!
