Don't have a cow, man!  If you read the beginning of the
documentation file, you'll see that VirtGIF is being distributed as
Shareware.  The author gives you a 14 day trial period, after which
if you continue to use the program you are supposed to contribute
$10-15.  There is no restriction on distribution, other than not
distributing a modified version.
