Your TWGS version is current, but certainly it shouldn't act up the way you reported. I hope you got the original sales receipt plus some memorandum of transfer from your "friend", since you will probably have to return it to either the store or to AE for replacement or repair. Before you do that, though, check that all ICs are seated in their sockets and that the TWGS connectors are also properly seated. It is also almost essential that you have an internal fan. Finally, if you have a lot of power-hungry cards in your IIGS the power supply may not be up to the demand.
