You might call them or a similar company that deals in used DEC products. - --- Opus-CBCS 1.12 * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (1:343/3.0) ------------------------------ Date: 05-21-90 (05:47) To: FRANK MALLORY Subject: RE: LZEXE91.ZIP From: DAVID MAROUN When I tried LZEXE, I was using Code Blue version 1. Perhaps version 2 is needed in this case. I thought *you* said that the earlier version of LZEXE was generic! However, I will see what happens with Code Blue 2 & MS-DOS 3.10b. - --- Opus-CBCS 1.12 * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (1:343/3.0) ------------------------------ Date: 05-21-90 (06:31) To: FRANK MALLORY Subject: SPREADSHEETS From: DAVID MAROUN My old Multiplan 1 needs no special printer drivers, but is compatible with any printer at all. If you want a *really* capable spreadsheet, try Analyticalc. This is the MS-DOS version of a program that started on the VAX. Analyticalc is shareware runs under Rainbow MS-DOS without Code Blue. Rather, to run on an IBM PC, you must configure the IBM to act like a VT100. The program uses character graphics, which any system can display, but you can use GW-BASIC with Analytic to get bit-mapped graphics. You need only 256 k of RAM. Analyticalc is rather slow, though, on 8088 machines. - --- Opus-CBCS 1.12 * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (1:343/3.0) ------------------------------ Date: 05-20-90 To: RAINBOW AND PRO 350 USERS Subject: SPARES AVAILABLE From: BILL BIRD For Sale: Rainbow Spares RX-50 Controller Card 100A Mother Board Power Supply for Rainbow Pro 350 Spares CT100 Mother Board Memory Daughter Board Video Generator Board RX-50 Controller Card Power Supply Also an RX-50 Floppy Drive The above are new from a Digital Dealers Kit. However, if you have printer drivers it frees you from the need to enter detailed printer control codes and gives you the flexib to use multiple fonts within a spreadsheet. > If you want a *really* capable spreadsheet, try Analyticalc. I tried it about five years ago on the VAX, and my impression at that time is that it was more like a specialized programming language than a spreadsheet I'll have to give it another try. But with hundreds of Multiplan spreadsheet files, it's doubtful that I would switch. Probably half of my applications of Multiplan don't involve any calculations at all; even tho I have dBase III and Clipper, I find it a lot more convenient to use Multiplan as a DBMS to track small collections of data (e.g., my electr Rolodex). So this is the capability of later Multiplans that I am most intere in. - --- * Origin: Silver Bullet - Silver Spring, Md. - 301-622-2247 (Opus 1:109/123) ------------------------------ Date: 05-23-90 (21:26) To: CAROLINE MACK Subject: RAINBOW CLOCK From: DAVE GOW I habve DDDD24~24~24~24~ DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD DDDDDDDDDoff Sorry about gibberish, I am new to this.
