I did the patch for TC 2.0. Whenever I tried to run TC on my Rainbow before applying the patch, the Rainbow would crash with the dreaded "interrupts off" message. This even if I tried invoking TCC with no parameters in order to see a brief help message. Perhaps TC++ works the same way as TC. You can check this pretty easily by using a debugger to see if it replaces int 18h with its own interrupt handler. You don't even need to use the Rainbow for this. Just step through program execution a bit. Since I have never used TC++ nor have any intention of upgrading to it, I can't say whether the program must be patched for use on the Rainbow. Of course, if you care to buy me a copy, ... :-) :-) > Any chance I can use the integrated >development environment? I have DOS 3.10b and Code Blue, if that will >make a difference. Several people have reported they can use the IDE from TURBO C v2.0 with Code Blue and MSDOS v3.10b without needing to patch it. [My patches are for the standalone components TCC and CPP only.] Whether the same is true of the IDE for TC++ one can only guess. Try it and let us know.
