It requires the pop-daemon to run in the unix mail server. Our mail server would be an HP 9000/840. I would be interested for a port of popd for that machine. We gave a shot at the one that is part of mh-6.6, but things did not work. So: has anyone installed the popd to an HP 9000/800-series machine?
