I am also having a problem with the deskjet driver. From my understanding of the help stuff with the driver, if I label my fonts as temporary, then they will be downloaded when required. This does not seem to happen, and the only way that I can get the fonts to work is to mark them as temporary, and have them load at boot time, or through running the control panel. It appears that the driver does not download temporary fonts when they are required: doesn't seem to do any checking to see if the fonts are there at all. If anyone has had any luck with this, please e-mail me, and I will summarize if there is enough interest. My setup is win 3.0, 386 enhanced mode, deskjet, 128K Ram cartridge, HP's soft fonts, and I'm running winword, though I have the same problems with windows write. thanks, kartik ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anant Kartik Mithal akm@cs.uoregon.edu Department of Computer Science akm@oregon.BITNET University of Oregon
