Message-ID: <276@bally.Bally.COM> Date: 25 May 90 17:25:21 GMT Organization: Bally Systems, Reno, NV Lines: 27 Hi, y'all netlanders... (I'm posting this for a friend not on the net) I have a NEC PowerMate 286 Portable PC (APC-H701) with a screen problem. Whenever I turn it on, the screen takes on a "brown" background which is almost impossible to read. After a few minutes, the screen assumes its normal, high-contrast silver background, and stays that way until I turn it off. Problem is, over the past few months, it takes longer and longer for the screen to "warm up" (ie. turn from low-contrast brown background to high-contrast silver background). It now takes several minutes. I am afraid that one day it will never "warm up". I took it to the dealer. They apparently didn't fix it, and charged me $100 for the favor. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a known fix? Ignorant minds want to know.....
