What are the advantages/disadvantages in using this chip? Can one simply pop in a 16550 in place of a 16450 or should one get an I/O card specifically designed for this chip? Where can I get an I/O card using the 16550? I would like a card with 2 serial ports, a parallel port and a game port. Who manufactures such a card and who sells them in North America - preferably in Canada? Please reply by mail or send me a copy of any followup postings as I can't keep up with the flood of news and things often get deleted before I see them. Many thanks for any help on this. -- John Wright ////////////////// Phone: 902-424-3805 or 902-424-6527 Post: c/o Dr Pat Lane, Biology Dept, Dalhousie U, Halifax N.S., CANADA B3H-4H8 Cdn/Eannet:lane@cs.dal.cdn Uucp:lane@dalcs.uucp or {uunet watmath}!dalcs!lane Arpa:lane%dalcs.uucp@uunet.uu.net Internet:lane@cs.dal.ca
