Message-ID: <5547@emory.mathcs.emory.edu> Date: 25 May 90 17:28:40 GMT Sender: news@mathcs.emory.edu Reply-To: swanger@ducvax.auburn.edu Organization: Academic Computing Services, Auburn University, AL., USA Lines: 23 News-Software: VAX/VMS VNEWS 1.3-4 I have a 4MB Mac IIx with System 6.04 running Multifinder. The Mac has an Apple Ethernet card. I have NCSA Telnet 2.3, Brown University TN3270 2.3d7, MacTCP 1.0, and Ethertalk 2.0b2. Using NCSA Telnet, I can Telnet into a local Vax with no problem. Using TN3270, I can log into a local IBM mainframe with no problem. However, I cannot seem to get them to work at the same time. In other words, I would like to have a Vax session and an IBM session available at all times. I would move back and forth between the two programs using normal Multifinder controls. I can start either of the programs with no problem, but when I try to start the other program, I get messages such as "Network Initialization Failed Couldn't Install IP Handler[E]". Has anyone out there been able to do what I want to do? If so, please let me know. I'm not always able to read this list, so if you could send me a direct reply, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot! David Swanger Auburn University SWANGER@DUCVAX.AUBURN.EDU <-- INTERNET SWANGER@AUDUCVAX <-- BITNET
