Sure enough, standard labels tend to come off their backing in the paperfeed mechanism. However: HP now makes special labels for the DeskJet/Writer - 92296 labels, call HP at 1-800 538 8787 for order info. These labels have a special glue which makes the backing adhere better, and not come off in the paper path. Also (this information given by HP support), Avery makes labels for the DeskJet/DeskWriter: they MUST have a gold starburst on the box saying "FOR DESKJET". I checked with the local EggHead, and they already had mailing labels, but not yet the ones for floppy disk labels. You can also order direct from Avery: (818) 969 3311 x3369. Stephen Marcus
