Belated thanks to all those who responded to my desperate query for
 help with Microsoft Word 3.01 on the Mac 512KE.  Without exception,
 every response suggested checking the RAM Cache, which was indeed
 the problem.

Thanks would have been faster, except I have been indisposed for a month
 with sickness and vacation time.
