Actually, from my experience with 7.0a9, very, very little is incompatible with virtual memory. The only things which seem to cause trouble are certain types of DMA NuBus cards, some driver INITs which install stuff above BufPtr rather than in the system heap, and some types of software which do screwy things at interrupt time. I have had no difficulty whatsoever with System 7's VM. Now the 32-bit memory manager is another story entirely... -- Mark Wilkins
