Recently we have had problems of sudden crash of the portmap daemon. According to the man page on portmap, this necessitates a reboot of all servers. Does anyone know why this crash occurs and also a more elegant solution to this problem (than a reboot)? Any suggestions will be appreciated, Jayashree Ramanathan Graduate Assistant jaya@cpsacs.cps.msu.edu (Internet) Dept. of Computer Science jaya@msuegr.BITNET Michigan State University uunet!frith!jaya East Lansing MI48824
