We are running Sun OS 4.0.3 on a Sun 3/280 with two other Sun 3/280
configured as slave servers. Recently we have had problems of sudden crash
of the portmap daemon. According to the man page on portmap, this
necessitates a reboot of all servers. Does anyone know why this crash
occurs and also a more elegant solution to this problem (than a reboot)?

Any suggestions will be appreciated,
