Keywords: Where's the apps, what are they, can you all talk? Message-ID: <1990May17.021241.23282@cbnewsi.att.com> Date: 17 May 90 02:12:41 GMT Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories Lines: 38 I know this is likely to generate a LOT of e-mail, but here goes. I am doing a special full featured article for UNIX World magazine on the topic of X Window based applications: how is the development going, where are the applications, if there are problems, what are they... that sort of thing. Anyway, what I would like is to receive some response from this news group about the type of X applications being developed, how real they are or are about to be, and a short single paragraph (non-proprietary material of course) description of the application. Also, any comments as to your views on the technical problems in developing applications (short also) would be useful. I do not (read my lips, do not) want to receive any proprietary material or information that is under non-disclosure -- only general information that would cause no damage if its contents were to be revealed in public. If you wish to include more detailed information, that's okay, but anything I use is likely to be abridged anyway. Some of you may even be quoted, so if you wish to, please include any relevant information pertaining to your background and current work assignment (company, project, etc.) If you do NOT wish to be quoted, please indicate this in your response. I need all responses in no later than 5/25/90. I cannot guarantee that I will be able to return every e-mail response due to time restrictions, but your input is most valuable. This article is about YOU, the X Window developers, and your work. This is your chance to crow (or bitch) a little about your craft. I look forward to your responses - remember only e-mail - I don't want to use up a lot of net bandwidth on just this issue. Thanks all!
