Three-wheeled scooters (Amigo) rent for $100/week, powerchairs rent $150/week and manual chairs rent for $75/week. The advice I got was to bring a GEL battery powerchair with you, or borrow a three-wheeled Amigo or manual chair. Most tourists and vacationers here RENT a car instead of trusting that a Taxi-Van will be available. Now to the topic of your message: I am a disABLED competitive swimmer and at the competitions I have gone to, the disABLED athlete out on his/her own for (possibly) the first time is woefully prepared for the social atmosphere found there. I -do- wish parents or a surogate parent would discuss frankly the facts of life, the birds'n'bees and anything else that is needed to be known.
