I don't think Geoff is upset enough about this to deal with it. I'm not either. The news readers shouldn't show it to you more than once anyway. Maybe they shouldn't but they do. rn and GNUS at least will both show the article each time it appears in the group on one reading of it because they don't do Xrefs until the group is exited. Until this sort of refiling came up dealing with a unique article that got filed multiple times in the same group was only a very, very rare issue.
