How did X3J14 pull it off? They just finally decided to do it. I think what did it was that Jack and I both were there (we have both been pushing for it from day one). We also sell the BASIS which is not something normally done by other standards groups. I believe we are getting away with it on the arguement that it is being done to promote the submission of proposals. In fact, that is stated right on the first page: "This document exists only as a platform for making proposals" > there will be no X3J14 police going around to make sure your > Forth conforms. I consider this a serious problem that I would like to try to solve. Is anyone else interested in working on a test suite? I would like to see an impartial organization (like FIG) offer tests to all the vendors and award certificates of compliance to those who pass the tests. I think it can be done, but it will take people who are willing to work on the tests, and impartial judges who could do the testing. Do we have any volunteers?
