(I think the number is actually six, with one extra for a) luck and b) a terminating \0). What do REAL (what the hell IS real?) UUCP uucico programs check in the length department? Will I break someone if I send the entire host name because they expect 'x' characters followed by a \0? Will I break someone if I check more than 'x' characters of a host name because they only send 'x'? Will Trudy marry Dave? Will Marsha ... oh never mind.
