Especially with the new SoftPC AT module, it is a very competent, albeit slow (6MHz AT level on a IIci), emulation of a full 286/287 EGA machine. The advantage I would see to this is that one could have the benefit from using a MAC and still be able to experiment with a full operating system down to interrupts and machine level I/O. Clearly performance should not be an issue with this configuration, one would clearly get very little of it. But MINIX is after all an OS teaching environment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert Weihmayer weihmayer@gte.com GTE Laboratories Inc. 40 Sylvan Road Senior Member of Technical Staff Waltham, MA 02254, USA Phone: (617) 466-2811 ----------------------------------------------------------------------
