I don't have all the necessary machines so I thought I'd appeal to the net. The ideal situation would provide numbers for transfers between SUN 4 and a 4341 and for transfers between a SUN and a 3090 over an ETHERNET. I'd appreciate it if someone could run a few GETs and PUTs with the SUN as the client machine for say a 1 MB file and pass the KBps numbers along to me. I'd also like a quick summary of your configuration; e.g., the FTP/TCP products you used, if you went TCP end to end, if a front end or protocol translator was involved, if the mainframe I/F was a channel attachment not, etc. Of course, any words of wisdom explaining the performance for this configuration are welcome. Thanks much. --Jack Fitch@dockmaster.ncsc.mil PS I suppose I could also be interested in SUN-to-9370 rates as well...
