Unfortunately I had to put my copy back on the I kept hearing so much hype about this game I finally went down to a store and watched the demo. I saw very little that was at all impressive about it. I STILL don't see what the big deal is; it looks very ordinary to me. Perhaps I missed something. >X-OUT - Nice looking Horizontal-scrolling shoot-em-up. It's been showing up on local boards (non-pirate) but no one knows whether it's shareware or PD or commercial or what. It has no docs at all; you'd not know it was named XOut if the lhwarp file wasn't named Xout.lhw... yet if it was commercial I'd think it would have more than ONE LEVEL. That's right; I have gotten past the last guy though normally I don't spend much time on games, especially ones like this, and it just pops you right back into the ship editor. Build another ship and you go out into the first screen again. For what it does, StarGlider II is one of the most impressive games graphically that I've ever seen. Sure, it's old, but most people don't even realize what's going on inside. True, realtime 3-D filled polygon solids, fast update and ALL with no help whatever from the blitter or any other custom chip. It's a shame that it's no longer made, but I hear the author did quite well by it. Also Stunt Track Racer is very very good. I just wish I had the time for it. . <<<>>> -- |Ben Scott, professional goof-off and consultant at The Raster Image, Denver| |Internet bscott@nyx.cs.du.edu, FIDO 1:104/421.2 or Arvada 68K (303)424-9831| |"My brothers and sisters all hated me,'cause I was an only child!"-Weird Al| |"Do I detect the smell of burning martyr?" - Basil Fawlty | *AMIGA POWER* |
