I have a binary file that I open using open(file,O_RDWR); However, only one process returns sucessfull file handle. If it makes things any easier, while multiple process need to share the file for reading/ writing, no two process will ever attempt to write the same record. -michal -- Merlin [The Magician] (AKA Michal Chmielewski) US Mail: Academic Computing Services, Univ. of Kansas, Lawrence, KS 66045, USA E-mail : michal@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu, michal@ukanvax.bitnet, AT&T (913)-864-0443
