I know HP is working on an ink which is less > water soluble. I've been printing with their ink for a while and the print quality is almost as good as the genuine HP stuff (it 'spiders' just a little more.) It still smears when wet, though--I don't know if it's *more* waterfast than the HP ink, but it's not *completely* waterfast... The ink that they sell is a squeeze bottle with a syringe tip--you stick it into an empty HP cartridge, squeeze (for a few minutes--syringes are always slow), and you've refilled the cartridge. Each bottle has more than enough ink, so you can usually top off a second cartridge. Note that certain mail-order places sell real HP cartridges for about $15. (Plus shipping, etc.) The walk-in cash single-unit price for the GU refills in Cambridge, Mass has been about $13. -- james "kibo" parry, 138 birch lane, scotia, ny 12302 <-- close to schenectady. kibo@pawl.rpi.edu _________________________________________________ kibo%pawl.rpi.edu@rpi.edu / Kibology / Anything I say is my opinion, userfe0n@rpitsmts.bitnet / is better! / and is the opposite of Xibo's.
