They just shelled out the (giggle) money. Whether or not the ATW ever sees the light of day in a mass-produced form is doubtful. 2-3 years ago the Inmos T800 (the ATW engine) was close to the forefront of RISC technology, but now it is quickly losing ground to better chips. I have personally heard from one netter who was using one in England at a university, but I don't remember any of the details.
