Message-ID: <3395@umbc3.UMBC.EDU> Date: 5 Jun 90 13:39:13 GMT Sender: newspost@umbc3.UMBC.EDU Reply-To: greg@umbc3.umbc.edu (Greg Sylvain,Lib 007a,3929,) Organization: University of Maryland, Baltimore County Lines: 35 Hello hello, I've just recently run into some nfs problems that I hope someone can shed some light on for me. First off, I'm still running hpux 6.5 on a cluster configuration with a 340 server and a 340 diskless client. And I have a file system nfs mounted from an ultrix machine, with -r=0 (root being root). My problem is that when someone on the diskless cnode tries to do a Make of some code, the make creashes with the following error message coming from getwd() : getwd: cannot open .. But if you execute the same make under the same cirumstance from the server, everything runs fine and the make builds successfully. I can also generate the same getwd error message under different circumsatance (i.e. 'su' doing a fast login, no "-" option). And I cann't get an `ls' of the NFS mounted fs when I ftp to the diskless client (it doesn't return a single filename). This seems to be the familiar getwd bug that I've run accross before but does anyone have a patch, or just simply now what's going on ? The permissions all seem ok (owned by root, diectories are all 755, etc). Or better yet, is this fixed in 7.0 ?
