Epic released a very cheap internal modem for Apple II's at 2400 baud. They also had an external version for slightly more, yet grossly inexpensive. Lot's of people mail ordered them. A mistake. It was soon discovered that they had a little problem with holding connectons and line noise. So Epic offered an upgrade chip (or modem).. people could call in for the free upgrade... Then they came out with the EPIC II which also was imperfect and had lots of problems.. After a kinda pathetic struggle.. The company went out of business.. Sorry... Ron P.S. Does anyone know of a Phoenix DIALIN to the Internet.. I need to TELNET to an account in Tucson, AZ.... -- Uucp: ...{gatech,ames,rutgers}!ncar!asuvax!stjhmc!14!Ron.Friedman Internet: Ron.Friedman@f14.n114.z1.fidonet.org
