Message-ID: Date: 8 Jun 90 15:31:27 GMT Sender: usenet@ads.com (USENET News) Reply-To: jtn@ADS.COM () Organization: Advanced Decision Systems, Mt. View, CA (415) 960-7300 Lines: 22 I have a Mac IIcx + Racal Vadic 9632VP modem. My comm packages are Freeterm and Zterm. The computer I'm calling is a Sun with USR Courier 2400 bps modems. Now I call the modem at work with the speed set to 2400 nps and 8bit 1 stop 1 start no flow control. The modem answers but the speed switches down to 1200! This happens with both Freeterm and Zterm, yet... when I use Kermit for the Mac, I get in at 2400 bps immediately with no problems. What I don't understand is why the two modems would decide to switch down to 1200 bps when both can support 2400 and I call at 2400. It's also strange that this doesn't happen with Kermit. Any guidance? -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ORGANIZATION: Advanced Decision Systems GEOGRAPHIC: Arlington, VA UUCP: kzin!speaker@mimsy.umd.edu INTERNET: jtn@potomac.ads.com
