Thanks to all those who responded to my original query regarding 
Portable memory problems.  To reiterate:

The Problem:  Mac Portable with 1MB upgrade drains to 0 power while
in sleep mode.  It would appear that the new memory is not turned off
while in this mode, or the memory is defective.

The suggestions:  Upgrade to 6.0.5, which should fix this problem.

The results:  6.0.5 may fix something but it does not fix this
problem, at least not on my machine.  If anyone else has suggestions
to offer, I would really like to hear them.
