Launching a new application often stops this activity. There does not seem to be any fault with the disk. I have reloaded the System, rebuilt the Desktop, scanned for anything nasty with Disinfectant v1.8, defragged and optimised with SUM II several times, but nothing seems to remove this `problem'. I am not aware that I have any odd DA's/INITS, but am running Gatekeeper v1.1.1 - which has not reported anything unusual. Anyone out there got any ideas? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Rickaby, c/o Praxis Systems plc, 20 Manvers Street, Bath, BA1 1PX, UK Tel: +44 225 444700 Tx: 465205 PRAXIS sfr%praxis.uuc@ukc.ac.uk, !mcvax!ukc!praxis!sfr
