Well, you must either have a different NeXT computer or different preferences application, or I was not clear what I wanted. Moving the menu around is pretty much useless. The menu has to be on the left-hand side because the submenus appear to its right. Moreover, the menus will still occupy a lot of space on the left somewhere, and the bar noting the application will still be empty. How do you get pop-up menus (on the bar?) ? /ivo welch
