We have happily used these drives on our 3/110 & 4/330 under SunOS4.0.3. 'mt -f xxx stat' recognises the drives ok, and we have only had a few problems to do with sending a rewind command while the drive is flushing its cache. However our SparcStation1 running 4.0.3c complains at boot time that the drive is an "unrecognised device". A patch/enhancement tape is available from Sun Consulting in the US but if this drive will be supported by the SunOS4.1c release we would be rather have the new release. Does anyone know why Exabyte drives aren't supported in SunOS4.0.3c ? Are they supported in SunOS4.1c ? Are they even supported in SunOS4.1 ? Greg.Robertson (confused of Boston Manor) Parsys Ltd.
