I want to use the execution profilers prof and gprof, but when I try to
compile and load with the respective -p and -pg options I'm told that we
don't have libc_p.a in /lib or /usr/lib!!!

Is this library file on the Sun OS distribution tape?  We're running
4.0.3, but will move to 4.1 in a few weeks.
