I am running software release 6.0 development system with network option. I have installed both CLX and CLUE into the load band. I have created a local host using the parameters recommended in the release documentation. I do not have an ethernet controller card and am not part of a network. When I boot the machine, I get a window saying there is no ethernet card and asking what to do. Choosing the option of creating a local host using a namespace file causes the machine to say that it has initialized the network. When I try to open a display using the local host, I get a "TCP not enabled" error. How can I persuade my machine that it is really a network? Jon Behrens behrens%wasser@boulder.colorado.edu
