Keywords: FAS 2.06, COM1-4, stock, standard, wha? Message-ID: <1990Jun4.072618.19429@msuinfo.cl.msu.edu> Date: 4 Jun 90 07:26:18 GMT Sender: news@msuinfo.cl.msu.edu Organization: Michigan State University, East Lansing Lines: 25 [] With a touch of net-help, I got FAS 2.06 to compile under ESIX. However, none of the ports work. (ISA COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4) Today I even retreated totally to just COM1 and COM2 on IRQ3 & 4, (totally stock) and still no response on the ports. The FAS driver at boot up indicates [****] ('all fine'). However, as I spawn off the gettys on the ports, ps's TTY column (TTY owner or such) shows a ?, indicating there is 'no controlling terminal?' All, that is, except one getty. When I had fas controlling two ports, the getty that was supposed to be running on ttyFM00 was showing ?, and ttyFM01 was displayed. When I configured FAS to control 4 ports, only ttyFM00 showed - all the other gettys were running on ?s. No - it's not a hardware problem. I can configure 3 of the 4 ports with ESIX's own asy driver configuration utility and they work fine. d Thus I know I have my port addresses and IRQ lines right. Any clues would be appreciated. Email preferably. Terry Conklin conklin@egr.msu.edu uunet!frith!conklin
