That message does in fact mean that you have an invalid command.com (no kidding). Search your hard disk for multiple copies of command.com If there are multiple copies, deleted all but the one refered to in the COMSPEC, and SHELL variables. Make sure you are running DOS 3.x because thats what the windows developer uses.
