RochIA Group Lines: 10 Thanks to all who responded by mail. The problem was that setuid programs ignore the env. variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH. The best solution was to make a symbolic link from the non-standard X library directory /lib/Xlib to a dir that is always searched for resolving dynamic ld references, lib:/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib.
