I do not have a handicap, except for a few personality flaws, which my wife could (and does) point out. >Julius@f223.n163.z1.fidonet.org (Julius) writes... > >Bowling is a good activity. If you want to get into organized bowling, but you can't find a suitable league, start your own. Starting a bowling league is very simple, finding teams for the league is a little more difficult. To start a league, go to a bowling center, ask them what times and days are available, and sign up. You'd probably want at least 4 teams for your league, each team should consist of 3-5 bowlers. You will also have control over the league's prizes and trophies. My young nephews were in a league, and each bowler received a "participation" trophy, they loved it. Your son could bowl on a "regular" league. Bowling, like golf, has a handicap system so bowlers of different abilities can compete. Some bowling centers also have aids, like guide rails, bowling balls with retractable handles instead of finger holes, automatic score keepers, and cushions for the gutters so all the balls rolled stay in play. I feel kind of silly posting this. Most of the discussions on this BBS deal with serious matters, mine is about bowling. Al Asmus Isanti, Minnesota USA
