ZZ is short for "write the file if it has not been saved yet and exit" note that it doesn't care *where* you saved the file, it doesn't have to be in the same file you started with. The "correct" way to exit vi is ":wq". You can change the default editor Bnews uses by changing the EDITOR environment variable.
