    Things went almost according to the plan.  It took longer to get to
the ship than planned since the currents and speed of the Turtle were not
what was expected.  Finally arriving, the boring screw would not bite into
the hull of the target ship.  It had a copper bottom that was too fresh for
the bit to go through and so the mine could not be attached.
