I am posting this for a friend with no net access; I don't know anything
about databases myself.

He came to me with a story about a database system called "FileMan" or
perhaps some approximation thereof, which he claims to be a public-domain
database system, and asked if I would find out about it.

So, if anyone reading this has a clue what he is talking about, I would
appreciate mail.  (I'll try to watch this newsgroup for a week or so,
but I might miss it, so please mail if you can.)
