The 8003 and the 8003EBT are the same except that the 8003EBT has a Boot ROM socket. The 8003EBT may also have 32Kb of buffer RAM in some versions, but making your driver use it is optional. Both use 8-bit data paths on the AT or XT bus. Neither has an on-board processor, so they aren't what is commonly accepted as 'smart' cards. James B.
