Depends upon the state. In Kentucky, one would have to pay the sales tax; the law is specifically written so. For all out-of-state purchases upon which you do not pay sales tax at the point of origin (like in this programme), you pay it to the Kentucky government. There's a place for it on the tax form. They're real creeps about it, too; even things like magazine subscriptions are supposed to be included.
