They were just kind of ill for a few months. The planned merger with AmigoTimes fell apart.. INFO ha secured new financing and they are publishing again. Issue #31 which should've been out in Feb. or March '90 is shipping now. I have a copy of it here on my desk (I'm a writer for INFO so I get each new issue sent to me UPS or 1st class mail along with my writer's check). Issue #31 is the final Amiga/64/128 issue of INFO. As of INFO #32 they will be 100% Amiga and monthly (well, 11 times per year cuz they'll skip an issue in the Summer to take a vacation). I've already submitted to them my columns for issues #32 and #33. I'm confidant that they're back on track. As far as AmigoTimes is concerned, the publisher recently shipped a long-delayed issue #1.10. I was FINALLY paid for my article in that issue too, as well as the previous issue. What their future plans are with regards to more issues, I don't know but it was a lengthy and expensive (over 20 long distance calls from California to Quebec) process for me to attempt collection of payments owed to me by them for my writing, and I was close to writing it all off for a while. > >I subscribed to INFO and never got a single issue or explanation just >a charge to my VISA account. >I also subscribed to the Australian version of TRANSACTOR and when it folded >I received a letter describing the closure and a week later a check for >my unused subscription (It was a very small amount as i was only owed two >issues. I almost sent a sub to Amigotimes at the time I subscribed to INFO >Whew!!!! The worst thing was I put off buying copies of INFO in the >local retailer as I was expecting mine anyday (We get ours 4 months late >done here) >So any info (pun intended) welcome. If I get an issue it will be a bonus as >I have written off the money > >-- Keith::: you might have subscribed to INFO just as their financial crisis was starting, so it's just a case of coincidental bad timing which you had no way to anticipate. You should be seeing Issue #31 show up soon with monthly issues to follow. The former editors of Amiga Transactor, Chris Zamara & Nick Sullivan, are now the editors of INFO's new technical section which will start appearing as of issue #32. Plesae spread the word down in NZ that INFO is publishing again. Harv Plink: CBM*HARV Author, INFO magazine Amiga Public Domain column & occasional reviews.
